Natalie and Josh are friends of mine that humor my crazy ideas, such as a text at 7:30am asking if they want to do an impromptu photo shoot near where we both live. The colors on this particular path are so stunning right now, that I wanted to get a couple of pictures, and heck why not do it with friends?! So without a huge back story, here are the beautiful pictures of our walk in the woods!
Saturday was extremely blustery and rainy. For the first 15 minutes of my session with Garrett and Christy, I wasn't entirely sure we were going to last the full hour. I swear it was raining sideways. I actually had my camera wrapped in a plastic bag with a hole cut out for the lens to peak through (I'm nothing if not resourceful). Baltimore has been their home for the last few years and like all true huns, wanted to celebrate their city! We shot up and around Fed Hill, lots of side streets, and down by the water. Even though the weather was dreary, it gave off this great Seattle-vibe. Just because the sun isn't out, doesn't mean you can't get stunning photos, and this session was proof of that! Enjoy!!
This shoot is near and dear to my heart. Let me explain. Emily went to the same high school I did (although a year younger), and we knew a lot of the same people, so we "knew" one another in high school speak. Flash forward a couple of years, to my first Christmas party with some of Bryce's family. Emily and I realize we know one another, and start chatting. Turns out, she's Bryce's second cousin (her mom and Bryce's dad are cousins, so that makes second cousins right? so confusing)! All the grandparents thought this was so sweet, and we routinely are referred to as "The Emilys". Flash forward a couple more years, we both are engaged and in 2015 we will officially (I say officially, because from the beginning it felt like we were family) all be family!
Now that I have gotten side tracked, let me introduce you to Mike & Emily. They met at Salisbury University and it was fate every since. Last month, after a trip to Ocean City for another friend's wedding, Mike proposed to Emily on a pier before coming home (I got a very emphatic text at 9am!) but still had one more trick up his sleeve. He had arranged with much of the family to be together for an engagement party later in the day! Enjoy the pictures from their engagement shoot at Centennial Park! Congrats guys, xoxo!
Last night (you read that right, I'm already blogging last night's photos-woo!) my shoot was at the Jerusalem Mills section of Gunpowder. I've never been there before so Bryce and I went early to scope out the area. It is absolutely gorgeous and I definitely want to go back! Except for one small, little detail: PHOTOGRAPHERS. Holy Moses! They were EVERYWHERE. No exaggeration, there were at least 20 photogs plus adorably dressed families and couples (we started counting people wearing red plaid too!) I can completely understand, as its amazing, but wow, I might not go on a Sunday evening again, its overwhelming.
Anyways after that really long side story, let me introduce Matt & Jacquie (and their furry babies!) They are such a sweet and FUNNY couple. They were constantly making one another (and us) laugh! Doesn't Jacquie have a beautiful smile, and Matt's eyes are stunning! What a good looking couple. They are getting married next summer and I wish them all the best in the rest of their wedding preparations!
Cute little Max is turning one this month and his parents wanted to get some family portraits done! If you have never chased after (or tried to photograph) an almost one year old, you should. Its exhausting, and challenging and terribly fun! I spent a lot of my time squatted down on my knees making silly noises and repeatedly saying his name hoping for a smile. But oh, when I got that smile I snapped the camera like mad! Here are some of my favorites of the birthday boy and his parents Byron and Stef! Happy Birthday Max!!!
