I told you a couple of weeks ago that something special was coming...well it's here now!! Last night I shot the second part of the jewelry with Rebecca! I'm not married, but I can imagine getting to wear your wedding dress again would be fun, so when we realized we had some wedding jewelry to shoot (see below for vendor information), Rebecca was ecstatic! She arrived at my house, put on her wedding dress and I drove us to the Howard County Nature Conservancy. I wish I had gotten a picture of her in the car, there was tulle everywhere! When we got there, I was pleasantly surprised to see 3 other photographers shooting clients at the same time. We managed to stay out of each others way and rotate through some gorgeous locations. My favorite was right as the sun set, I got the most AMAZING pictures. I literally could not stop shooting. I couldn't have asked for a better model (or friend!) to do this with. Even though the veil kept flying away (see below for some great action shots) we had such a fun time!
The GORGEOUS jewelry you see Rebecca wearing is from Poetry Designs. Check them out!!
Last weekend I planned a series of surprises for Bryce's birthday. I had so much fun getting it all together. We started the weekend off with a night at the most adorable bed and breakfast, The Hillbrook Inn. Even in the pouring rain it was gorgeous. I honestly felt like we were in the English countryside. Our room was perfect (you can't go wrong with a fireplace and king size bed.) Bryce loved it and was so surprised! It didn't end there though. I had scheduled a picnic and hike with friends who met us at Harpers Ferry! Finally we wrapped up with a BBQ at his parents with his extended family. I love birthdays. Its the one day that is completely all about you. That being said, I typically get really creative for birthdays. I had fun making the day (or weekend) special for Bryce and I'm thankful all the family and friends that helped :)
A couple of weeks ago, my dear friend Rebecca asked me to take some pictures of her wearing various pieces of jewelry for some Etsy store owners. What a cool thing to be a part of. Any jewelry you see on her came from one of two stores (vendor information at the end of the post). Naturally, when two friends get together (and essentially play dress ups) the camera doesn't stop rolling! Here are a few of my absolute FAVORITES. Isn't she stunning?! Her smile and laugh can light up a whole room (or elicit hoots from cars stuck in traffic next to you...) We have another shoot planned, something totally different coming up soon, so stay tuned! Thanks for including me in this fun project Rebecca!
This year I'm going to three weddings (as of now, who knows if there are more to come!), and I'm in two of them. This past weekend officially started off all the wedding events. A dear friend had her bridal shower! I had some time on my hands (Read: didn't want to study) and constructed some DIY decorations for her party! I was especially proud of the Instagram sign I made. I have been slowly teaching myself how vector programs work (I found a free one that isn't as fancy as Adobe's Illustrator program but it gets the job done). Friday night I decided to play around a little bit and see what I could come up with in terms of a little Instagram sign. I am so tickled that the couple wants to use it at their wedding too! The shower was fun (and those cupcakes were amazing!). I love getting together with different age groups and realizing that we aren't as different as I thought. The most fun gift of the shower, in my opinion, was a recipe for a cocktail and all the ingredients! Stay tuned for more wedding events as the year progresses, you know I'll have my camera close by!
Despite the 15+ inches of snow on the ground (and the fact that Blake didn't even have boots!), this shoot was so fun! Many people don't feel comfortable in front of the camera (myself included). It takes the gentle guidance of a photographer to bring out the genuine smiles and ease a couple into their shoot. This was not the case with Ciara and Blake. They are every photographer's DREAM. Immediately, before I even gave them any posing tips, Ciara positioned herself at a great angle next to Blake, and locked eyes with the camera! I knew then, this shoot was going to be amazing (and so easy!!). Ciara wore the most gorgeous, red coat which really pulled together this belated-Valentines shoot! Part of what was so great with Ciara and Blake wasn't that they knew how to "work it" but that they were so in tune to one another. They just fit together so well. And those, smiles? Oh totally genuine and full of emotion. It was a real treat to get to shoot with them!! Hope you all had a happy Valentines day!
