Why You Need a Wedding Planner | Love Your Photographer

Dear Couples,
Are you just starting the wedding planning process? (and oh what a process it is-former bride over here!!)

Venue? Check
Florist? Check
Photographer? Check Check Check!

But what about a wedding planner?

You're thinking you don't need one right? Your cousin is going to help organize people for family portraits and your sister's boyfriend's youngest half-sister is going to keep the reception running on time.

Stop yourself right there.

Would you have a dentist color and cut your hair? A chef design your living room layout?

Everyone has a specific skill set related to their job. Especially the vendors involved on your wedding day!

I can't say enough about how much smoother weddings run for EVERYONE when a wedding planner is involved. It means I can come to them with questions and not you while you're trying to enjoy your party! It means your timeline is AWESOME and your day runs ON TIME.

So often photographers get pulled in to keep the day running on time (which is important to be on time) BUT I want to be in my creative place so I can capture the best moments of your day. I really don't want to be shuffling your guests from cocktail hour into the reception and to please please please take their seats so we can get the first dances underway. I should instead be setting up my gear and positioning myself in the best spot to shoot your first dance as a married couple!

Wedding planners help your vision come to reality, manage any surprise snafus and keep your day running on time! (I realize this is a SMALL sampling of ALL the tasks a wedding planner does, they do SO much more!).

Let us each do our jobs, so you (and your family) get to enjoy every moment of your day and the time leading up to it!

Myself with Caitlin Krebs of Caitlin Krebs Events at our first wedding together. Our second is this weekend!

Love,
Your Photographer

Ring Shots | Best of 2016

Yesterday I did a post of my favorite blooms of 2016. Well today I'm sharing with you my favorite ring shots from 2016!

If you can't tell, some of my favorite parts of a wedding are the details!

2017 brides take note- a super cohesive wedding starts in the details. It helps tell the story of your day!

And don't forget the ring box!! I loved the Mrs. Box Andrea had (first picture) although I may be a little biased because I have the same one!

Before engagement pictures or your wedding day, make sure to get your ring cleaned right before so it sparkles!

Bouquets, boutonniere and flowers! Oh my! | Best of 2016

What a fun post! I've seen lots of my photographer friends posting their behind the scenes from 2016. For whatever reason, we get caught up in shooting our subjects and always forget to get a couple behind the scenes  shots.

So my 2016 round up is of my favorite flower shots!

Enjoy!

PS-2017 brides, I can't WAIT to see your florals!! The fastest way to a wedding photographer's heart is through florals and Chipotle.

C+C | Married

I'm so excited to share this wedding with you all!
A gorgeous vineyard with rolling hills set the stage for their special day! Surrounded by family and friends (and another Emily Jane Bride + Groom) they tied the knot!

I love how in love they are with one another! Every time I looked at them, they had the biggest grins on their faces! I think though, my favorite part of the whole day was when we stole outside for 5 minutes right at sunset and captured a few more portraits! I think you'll see why!

It's so hard for me when weddings are over, because I really grow to know and care about my couples, and this one was no exception. Its always an honor to participate in someone's wedding. I tear up when they tear up, I grin when they grin. However, it's not goodbye, just see you later with these two, because they are going to be in another Emily Jane Wedding next spring!

C+C, I'm so thrilled for you, and we had the best time capturing your day. You have the biggest hearts and know that your marriage will be full of love! See you next year!

xoxo.
